07 Jun James Gandolfini’s Former West Village Apartment Hits the Market for $9 Million
Late actor James Gandolfini’s West Village apartment is once again changing hands, according to the New York Post, and the current owners are asking $8.99 million.
The Sopranos star bought the luxury NYC abode back in 1999, the same year he married his first wife, film producer Marcy Wudarski. In 2002, the couple purchased an adjacent apartment, expanding the unit to almost 3,200 square feet. Wudarski was granted the apartment as part of their divorce settlement in 2003 and sold it in 2017, four years after Gandolfini’s death. Two years later, it was sold to the current owners, who took on a comprehensive contemporary makeover.
The now four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom unit is wrapped in sliding picture windows, allowing tons of sunlight into the apartment. The second-floor spread offers clear views of Washington Commons, a small park that borders the doorman building on its east side.

The open floor plan includes a galley-style kitchen that flows into a 30-foot-long living area, with spaces for dining and lounging. Behind pocket doors off of the living area is a light-filled den. Elsewhere, a flex room, currently being used as a library, can be modified to accommodate an office, another lounge area, or a playroom. Highlights of the sun-drenched primary suite include a large walk-in closet, a soaking tub, and a separate shower. Two of the other four bathrooms are ensuite.
